Tour de Hamburg

This time, the Live To Love team headed southwest by bike to visit more trees already planted and see if they needed anything.

Our tree team leads have been regularly taking care of all the trees that have already been planted for years, but the whole team has also wanted to see how beautifully they have all grown for a long time. Riding the routes on bikes is just great, being out in the fresh air and on the move all day gives physical fitness and brings a lot of fun. In addition, this kind of locomotion provides us with so many insights into various districts and green spaces of the beautiful Hanseatic city of Hamburg, which can be discovered neither by car nor by public transport and serves the climate protection.

Enthusiastic and full of joy, the column moved from Winterhude, powerfully pedaling, towards the Altonaer Balkon. On the high slope of the Elbe River, the Gyalwang Drukpa, founder of the international network "Live To Love", together with the Kung Fu Nuns, had planted one of a total of five elms in the ground three years ago on the occasion of his visit to Hamburg. A very special and great honor for the city of Hamburg. The memories of the happy and fulfilled hours were immediately revived with a view of the wide Elbe scenery. As well as deep gratitude to learn so much about the interdependencies in nature through Live To Love - and to be able to actively contribute something to environmental protection.

After removing some nettles, this magnificent grown tree was again decorated with flags and flowers. A tribute to the Gyalwang Drukpa. Other stops on our tour were: the Grotsche Heide in Othmarschen, the Kemal-Altun-Platz in Ottensen and the Altonaer Volkspark. Here we prepared the upcoming tree planting.

At the end of this second bike tour, we clearly decided to already plan the further routes. It has done us all indescribably good to share our time in this way and to experience opportunities for personal conversations. By the way, we are already looking forward to the next big tree planting action on October 17: Then we will put another 1000 heisters into the ground as part of the reforestation in Klövensteen.

See you soon!
