It must come from the heart what is to act on hearts

A person often feels transformed as soon as he is treated humanely, Eugen Roth wrote. We have been making this experience for many years, from both sides and in all directions.

A genuine human encounter, both with homeless people and people of all social origins, transforms us all.

Due to the pandemic situation, we set out again this weekend in smaller teams to visit homeless people on the streets.
 
We got to know, as always many people, their individual life situations and how they personally deal with it.
"You can get along very well with very little and be so happy doing it" summed up one street musician.
A very old man was so indescribably grateful and happy about the donations that his joy is still clearly noticeable.

But terrible violence against women was also an issue. While most homeless people favor group shelter, a few seek refuge in nature, in the green zones of cities or on the outskirts.
Many fled are trying to find a place in our society, which in this time of pandemic, and even more so in winter, is harder than ever.
 
We hope that our small contribution could anchor a little lasting light in the lives of all the people we met today.
